His professional career has been focused on developing projects and products in theareas of clean-technology, integrated resource systems, and smart energy solutions. He is one of the co-founders of Metabolic, a consulting and venture-building company that applies systems-thinking to tackle global sustainability challenges. In 2015, Philip founded Spectral, a rapidly growing system integration and smart-grid technology company based in Amsterdam, where he is currently CEO / CTO and responsible for leading R&D, product deployment, and cutting-edge smart-grid projects.

Jan Pellis
Innovation Manager
Jan Pellis is innovation theme manager ‘Flexibility and future market facilitation’ at grid operator Stedin. He is committed to starting innovation projects to develop the role of Stedin in the energy transition. This covers enabling and connecting new and existing parties in the energy market to test solutions for the energy system of the future. He also contributes to different nation wide working groups to understand and shape the energy transition. Recent projects Pellis is involved are: ‘the Layered Energy System’, ‘An assessment framework for the application of flexibility in the Dutch power system’, ‘The future of the energy-intensive industries in the Netherlands’ and ‘Stedin Flex acceleration program’. Pellis studied Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. After his graduation in 1997 he started his career in the energy sector at high voltage cable manufacturer NKF (nowadays Prysmian). From 2002 he has been working at Stedin in different expert and management functions. Pellis has built up broad experience in energy transition modelling, strategy development, innovation and asset management of gas and electricity networks.

Dick van Veen
Business Development
Dick van Veen works for Siemens Nederland, Energy Management division. His role is to explore new opportunities that comes along with the decarbonization, decentralization and digitalization of the energy system. He goal is to create large scale techno-economic studies and businessmodels that contribute to the energy transition. Van Veen studied business economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and started his career in the financial sector. Before he joined Siemens he worked in various roles for Cofely (Engie) and Eneco where he became responsible for the development of ESCO’s, energy performance contracts and consultancy services for the real estate sector.

Nicolas is co-founder and Managing Partner of TiLT Capital Partners. He was most recently SVP in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions for Engie. He’s worked on energy (oil, gas, RES, conventional) and access to energy projects all over the world for the last 18 years. Imco Goudswaard
Market insights & Sustainability Lead
Imco, born in the Netherlands, holds a master’s degree in Structural Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and completed a 1-year post-graduate program in Polymer Technology before joining DSM in 1991. At DSM he has built a 25+ years of experience in product innovation and market strategy. At first, he became responsible for various new product development programs in DSM’s polymer business. In 2000, he joined DSM’s Innovation Center as business development manager for a polymer additive scale-up after which he switched to the Innovation Center’s Incubator organization scouting for new business opportunities and supporting start-up activities as business analyst. In 2010, he was a founding team member of DSM’s venture in the Solar PV industry, later named DSM Advanced Solar (DAS). As Market Insights and Sustainability lead within the fast growing DAS organization he is supporting the R&D, business and management teams in strategic decision making and leveraging the sustainability value of its products.

Ke Wang
Circular Economy Business Innovator
Ke is the Coordinator of Horizon 2020 CIRCUSOL project. Working as a circular economy business model innovator at VITO, she is keen on synergizing environmental and economic interests. She has been an active contributor in a number of other EU-level circular economy initiatives, including Horizon 2020 BAMB and CICERONE. Prior to VITO, Ke had nearly a decade of experience working in the industry as an innovation leader. Ke holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.

Frank Lenzmann
Researcher & Project Manager
Frank is a chemist by education. He holds a final degree from the university of Duisburg in Germany in 1995 and a PhD at the Polytechnical University of Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland in the area of materials science and physical chemistry in 2001. He has been a researcher and project manager at the Solar Energy department of the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) since 2001. He has expertise in photovoltaics (a.o.): recycling of PV modules and cells, life-cycle assessment and sustainability, solar cell architectures, ultrathin silicon wafers, photonic light-management.

Peter is Director, Active Ownership and covers the consumer staples, healthcare and chemicals sector as engagement specialist. He engages with companies on their contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals and looks at Reducing Global Waste and SDG 12.4 in particular when it comes to solar waste. Peter gained over four years of professional experience in business development in frontier markets before joining Robeco in 2011. Peter holds a master's degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University with a minor in Entrepreneurship.

Jacco is an experienced innovator with more than six years experience in the field of circular economy. Previously a project manager at research institute TNO, he is used to guiding projects dealing with complex and challenging objectives to concrete results. At Circle Economy Jacco is project manager for the Circularity Gap Report and lead for the Business Solutions team, where he works for a range of international and corporate partners that show a strong ambition to support the transition to a circular economy.
